The third installment from his Fly Or Die Mixtape is the single "Swag." It follows young, SicWeezy, on a quest to stop the love of his life from marrying another man, but being the fresh Cali kid that he is, he gets sidetracked on the way there by fresh sneakers, tasty burgers and a random pretty girl on the street. Although not exactly the same as the original or even prior retro, Jordan Brand prepares to drop one of its more sought after releases, the VI Infrared, in a not so Infrared colorway. Most of the sneaker’s classic design aesthetic remains in tact though, with a Black backdrop, this time being accented by Varsity Red and classic clear outsoles. A release date can be expected for January 16th, 2010.

Project X Designs, a new London-based Rolex customizer, has already won some high-profile fans including James Bond himself - Daniel Craig. Project X, which also produces its own Limited Edition Rolex designs in small runs, began with a custom Submariner and Daytona a few months ago which have nearly all sold out. Two new Daytona models have just been released. Founder Daniel Bourn, 37, also launched the London Watch Company in 2003 which specializes in building collections of vintage "investment grade" Rolexes for private clients. Bourn is actually a former investment banker who developed an "obsessive compulsion" for collecting rare, modern and vintage luxury watches and decided to change careers.

Bourn launched Project X Designs (PXD), which has offices in Hanover Square, London W1, out of a desire to "provide a service to clients who appreciate the history and allure of original manufacturers' brand name – guaranteeing maximum performance with minimal maintenance – but who seek the individuality that contemporary high volume production does not offer." It's an aesthetic that appeals to celebs like Kanye West - The Classicist reported on his blacked-out Rolex earlier this year - and Craig, a diehard Rolex enthusiast as we noted last year, who owns PXD's custom Submariner.

PXD offers two distinct services via its website: the first, a bespoke service which, like a bespoke suit, tailors a new luxury wristwatch with unique features to the clients' own personal specification. For example, a leading Formula One Racing Team have commissioned a special Daytona - carrying the company logo on the reverse together with the details of the race victory - for each of its Grand Prix winning drivers. Just like last season, the Lakers' chances of winning a championship may hinge on the health of Andrew Bynum, who has been out since February with a torn medial collateral ligament in his right knee.

Coach Phil Jackson said recently that Bynum could be at least a few weeks away from returning. Now, I'm no doctor, of course, but at the Playboy Mansion on Saturday, the Lakers' 7-foot center looked to be well on the road to recovery.

While the Lakers were in Atlanta preparing for what would be an 86-76 loss to the Hawks on Sunday, Bynum was in Los Angeles mingling at a pajamas and lingerie party after the Playboy Golf Finals.

Wearing a green smoking jacket and slippers, Bynum, whose injury status is generating daily headlines in Los Angeles, partied like a rock star near the infamous grotto.

He picked up Playmate Nicole Narain and placed her on his shoulders and got somebody to take a picture with his digital camera.

Upper-body strength, check.

He hopped over a velvet rope near the DJ booth so he could take a picture with Narain and other Playmates who ended up sitting on his lap.

Jumping ability, check.

He sidestepped a few of the roaming cameras and got down with some Playmates on the checkered dance floor set up in the backyard.

Lateral movement, check.

Later, with lines around the bar getting longer, he pulled out a bottled beverage from one pocket and four plastic cups from another and offered up drinks to three Playmates who were with him.

Ability to adjust to game situations, check.

The scene reminded me of seeing pitcher Brad Penny at the mansion last season during a Dodgers game while he was on the disabled list. When I asked Penny if he was keeping track of the game, he took one look at his surroundings and said, "No, would you?"

If Bynum isn't healthy enough to play, should he be able to live out his Playboy fantasy in the meantime? Maybe, but while he's rehabbing his injury and the Lakers play shorthanded without him, perhaps it'd be wise for him to keep a low profile and sit out a couple of pajama parties. The grotto and Playmates will still be there. The Lakers can only hope the same can be said for Bynum come playoff time

That Randy Newman song ruled my childhood. The championships, the Riley "Next Year We're Going To Do It again" Guarantee, the smashing of the Sixers, Celtics and Pistons....I still have it all in a vault full of VHS tapes. Growing up in Los Angeles in the 80's, I was a witness to the greatest basketball player to have ever laced it up.

When Magic rolled by the shop the other day and we were able to lace him up with a few Fly Or Die tees, it was ALL OVER. You can see my nerves through the pics. I was standing and talking to the Magic Man Earvin Johnson. I was like the Joker with my fuckin grin the whole time I chatted with him, no joke, haha!

I'm getting a replica of the Magic Staples Center statue erected in the shop. Anyone know who can make this for me??

Farmar was born in Los Angeles, California. Farmar attended Portola Middle School (like yours truly!!) in Tarzana and Birmingham High School in Van Nuys, before transferring his sophomore year to Taft High School in Woodland Hills, a suburban community of the San Fernando Valley within Los Angeles. At Taft High School, Farmar scored a record 54 points in a single game. He decided to play college basketball at UCLA and eventually went on to the NBA as a starting poing guard with the LA Lakers.

Last year, M.I.A.'s summery shoot-em-up "Paper Planes" emerged as the kind of track that pop and underground music fans of all stripes could rally behind. The remix with Bun B and Rich Boy took the Kala cut's bass-buzzing, register-ringing Robin Hood stance deeper into outlaw territory-- the mean streets and Sherwood Forest-- correctly noted that poverty was a condition one is born into rather than something one brings on himself, and wound up as our #4 track of 2007. In recent weeks, the use of "Paper Planes" in the trailer for Seth Rogen stoner action-comedy Pineapple Express has propelled the track as high as #5 in the Hot 100. In the process, Clap Clap blogger Mike Barthel suggests, the movie ad brings Kala's translation of drug-dealing hustle into third-world hustle back home as a critique of white American gangstaism. A thousand miles an hour, indeed.
New West-produced T.I. track "Swagger Like Us", which samples a bit of the Clash-sampling "Paper Planes", reclaims the song for hip-hop. It's basically a Who's Who of critically acclaimed, top-selling rappers, with Kanye West, Jay-Z, and Lil Wayne all joining T.I. as M.I.A.'s voice repeats, "No one on the corner has swagger like us." But it's also one of the song's least inventive uses yet, blasting off with spaceship-like sound effects even as West and Wayne run T-Pain Auto-Tune into the ground.
